Khalsa: Identity, Courage, Seva

Founded by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699, the Khalsa represents a collective of the initiated who commit to living by Sikh principles – truth, equality, seva (selfless service), and courage. The Khalsa upholds the five Ks and the code of conduct known as Rehat Maryada.

ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਭਾਈ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥

Seva becomes natural for the servant; by Guru’s Grace one meditates on the Divine Name.
